SYNOPSIS

Female Kansas City Police Officer ‘Mike’ Hoolihan is assigned the task of investigating the brutal killing of the flawlessly beautiful and innocent Jennifer Rockwell. That Jennifer was a close, life-long friend and daughter of her boss, the chief of police Colonel Tom, makes her death all the more hard to bear. Shock is compounded with despair when investigating officers say her prints on the gun mean only one conclusions: suicide. Why would a paragon of grace and beauty end her own life? In the absence of any credible motive, Mike and Colonel Tom refuse to believe she killed herself and set about discovering the real killer.
Jennifer’s naked corpse, a mute enigma, has no right to privacy as Mike sifts painfully through the remnants of the life it has left behind – packets of drugs bought from the local dealer, provocative make-up…perhaps the innocent Jennifer, the perfect angel who Mike always knew to be the ideal of femininity that she never was, had her own demons. Secrets turn into clues. Fragments of Jennifer’s life clash with fragments of her death. Mike begins to learn that we can never know those we are closest to.
